Requirements
- Proof of remote work or freelance income
- Minimum monthly income: €3,040 (4x Portuguese minimum wage)
- Valid employment contract or client agreements
- Clean criminal record from your home country
- Health insurance for the duration of stay
The Process
- Apply at the Portuguese consulate in your home country
- Wait 4-8 months for processing
- Once approved, travel to Portugal to get residency card
- Valid for 1 year, renewable for up to 5 years
- After 5 years, apply for permanent residency
